Price was very competitive, service was outstanding from sales to installation. Team cleaned up everything. After install there was an issue with air flow. They found that a very large birds nest was in one of the returns since home was built in 2006. Came back and replaced ducts and ran another direct line. Couldn't be happier. System works great and elec bill is already $60 less than the prior month.

Company arrived when stated and performed work as stated. Big whoops, shouldn't every business. Why I will continue to do business with them (will be buying a second unit for another property very soon) is because how the owners stand behind their work. After installation, had minor issue with heat not working properly. Call them and left a message during non business hours, got a call back first thing in the morning before business was even open. Had someone out to fix it within few hours (no charge). Week or so later had drain issue, called and within 3 hours had someone out and fixing (no charge). Year later they called for the yearly check up/maintenance. Sent technician out. All work was done timely and as promised. Afterwards, noticed cover of circuit box was damaged. Call and spoke with owner, expressing my concerns. They could've argued box and cover were old and deteriorated, and damage was due to normal wear and tear. But they didn't, they had someone out within the hour replacing the damaged circuit box (no charge). Granted, it would be nice if there were no issues after installation. But seeing how the owners instantly remedied the issues and had someone out immediately with no questions asked, made me a loyal customer. These AC companies have many technicians, some of them might be excellent while others adequate. How many times do you have to wait for a call back from the owner/manager, then days for the repair. I'm willing to pay a fair price for quality equipment from a company that I know will be there to fix it for me, than risk going with another company that might be less expensive and offer lower quality products and service. For me, I prefer to do business with a company I know will be available when needed, handle service calls quickly and professionally, and stand behind their products and workmanship 100%. Artic Breeze excels when it comes to customer service. For that reason they have me as a loyal customer.

Phill was sent out to give me a quote on the unit. this was kinda funny as he is a service tech but the other sales people were busy that afternoon so off we went. he covered everything from a to z and answered any all questions my wife and I had about the unit warranty and extended warranty. he had such a love for his job and the people he worked for I really expect in 20 years when I need something done Phill will make the service call. he came back out the next day and charged the unit we had at no charge as it was gonna be Monday before it could be installed and it was Wednesday so it made the weekend tolerable. the install crew of Mitch, Rocco, and Jason were on time Monday morning and got right to work. wow a 5 ton unit is quite a job to disconnect but even more a chore to assemble. this made quite a mess but when they left you would have never known they been either inside or out, my wife loved them and wanted to see if they did housework also. anyway after they finished up with the assembly and the clean up they did not rush out the door they stayed around for an hour and went over everything with us and not 1 time did any of them look at their watches even though it was after quitting time, this I really appreciate as I cannot stand a clock watcher. as I said I had 4 estimates from different places in town and these guys were not the cheapest nor the highest but I am so glad they sent Phill out to give me that estimate as he made the whole process easier to understand and he really cared for his job and the company he works for. Thank you Arctic Breeze.........................................Eddy & Patti Ashworth

I found them through a real estate management company. I gave them an A overall based just on the fact that we called them one day and they were willing to come out the next day. In Florida it is hot every day and everybody's air conditioning must be breaking down but they just came out the next day. They were very nice, explained everything to me and showed me where everything was. The work they did was good. I have been using them since February of 2014.

We purchased our 11-year-old home just 3 months ago and the heat pump stopped cooling one day. After assessing things myself I found the inner coils frozen. I let them thaw and turned the unit on to cool again. It still wouldn't cool and things began freezing up again. I called Arctic Breeze whom we had had experience with while renting property prior to purchasing our new home. It was a Sunday afternoon and I was given a 2-hour window for a technician. This was better than I had hoped for. The technician arrived in about 1 hour and was professional and extremely friendly. He found that I had a clogged drain line causing water to back up in our return and blocking air flow. This, in turn, caused the unit to freeze. He showed me how to do preventative maintenance to prevent this in the future. He drained the water from the return and the system immediately began cooling again. I cannot emphasize enough how friendly and helpful the technician was. He took the time to thoroughly explain things so that I understood the cause and how to prevent the issue in the future. We will certainly use Artic Breeze again in the future if needed and will be reaching out to them to replace the system when necessary.

No problem with installation. Problem is I thought I was getting an American Standard Silver 16 air conditioner because I wanted 16 SEER and I got a Silver 14 with an air handler that brought the SEER up to 16 per AHRI, a company that does SEER ratings. Tim listed the SEER and equipment (model number only not "Silver 14") but I thought it was deceptive not to let me know in advance that I would be getting the Silver 14, so buyer beware and be sure to ask what specific equipment you will get and not just the SEER and model number.

Arctic Breeze did not have a Labor Insurance Coverage Plan I could purchase on my older heat pump system at my primary home due to the age of the system they installed when I found out on 29July2015 about the new Labor Insurance Coverage they now sell. Arctic Breeze now sells a labor insurance plan that will pay labor costs for equipment breakdown - the plan I have for my other house that they put a new heat pump system into - covers 10 years labor cost($750) and the manufacturer covers 10 years parts cost - the plans are transferable to a new owner of my house if I sell it as long as the plan is registered in the new owners name within 60 days after settlement date. There is a small fee to transfer the plans to a new owner ($60 paid by me in advance for manufacturer parts transfer fee - so new owner does not have to pay this fee) I do not plan on selling at this time - but good to have as a selling point just in case I want to sell in the future. To insure the equipment manufacturer will honor their 10 year warranty one has to pay the yearly Maintenance Fee (Currently$75) and ensure you keep the paperwork to prove your annual services. Arctic Breeze will have these records - but it is always good to keep your own hard copy or electronic records.

Arctic Breeze Technicians removed old Air Handler Unit from hall closet and removed old outdoor unit. They then installed new heat pump system: Installed new Air Return Grill Housing and filter in Hall Ceiling inside house - Installed new American Standard / Train Air Handler in Garage - Installed new ducting in attic - installed new Outside compressor evaporator Unit - installed coolant heat exchange tubing from Outside Unit to Air Handler - Installed required Electrical Connections and wiring thru their Breakers Electric, their Electrical Sub-Contractor - Installed Condensation drip Tubing from Air Handler to outside Garage. I purchased the Arctic Breeze labor insurance plan for new systems they install. It will pay labor costs for equipment breakdown - the plan covers 10 years labor cost($750) and the manufacturer covers 10 years parts cost - the plans are transferable to a new owner of my house if I sell it as long as the plan is registered in the new owners name within 60 days after settlement date. Arctic Breeze will have these records - but it is always good to keep your own hard copy or electronic records. Probably because this Labor Insurance plan was new to Arctic Breeze at that time - I did research and contacted the Insurance Plan on my own to speed up the process in getting the required documentation to ensure I will be covered in case there are any problems. I also contacted the American Standard / Train Manufacturer to ensure the required documentation of 10 year parts coverage. I confirmed on line that I was registered properly for each of the plans - parts and labor. NOTE: Ensure you are registered via the internet on line at the Manufacturers Web Site and if you purchase the labor coverage - Labor Insurance Coverage Web Site. I did not register in time in December 211 for my primary home the Inverter Heat Pump (Diakin Brand) and their web site said I was not covered as I did not register within the first couple of months after purchasing the unit.. BE CERTAIN to check you are registered at the manufacturer web site AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after having a new heat pump system installed and print out or save a electronic copy for your records. DO NOT Assume the installer will do this for you. (After phoning DIAKIN and reviewing the fine print warranty parts coverage - I should be covered for 5 years but not the 7 years parts coverage I would have in place if I had registered in time.) I

My mother had major issues with her A/C unit. The A/C unit was no longer working properly. We contacted Mark to set up an estimate than scheduled new installation for A/C unit along with other additional duct work. Mark's crew were very professional, punctual and completed everything that was promised. They did a great job with the installation. My mother was very pleased with the services. They also cleaned all grills and duct work, plus sanitized. I highly recommend Arctic Breeze services. About 6 months or so after installation, my mother had a minor issue and also due for her check-up service. She called, They were very responsive and everything was taken care of. Great service!

We just moved to Palm Coast and it was our first night in our new home. At 3:00 a.m. my wife and I both woke up sweating. The A/C had failed and was not cooling at all. I waited until 8:00 a.m. and called a well-respected local HVAC company. I was told 2:00 to 5:00 was the best they could do. It would be 95+ degrees by 2:00! I found an Artic Breeze sticker on the indoor unit and called them. We had a tech here before 11:00 a.m. He diagnosed and replaced a failed capacitor with 30 minutes, but also showed me how all of the insulation inside the air intake duct had collapsed and the system was sucking warm air from inside the wall behind it. Today, a crew came back and repaired all of the duct work and did complete preventative maintenance on the entire system. They found additional problems with the air intake, but they fixed them and held to the original estimate of $450.00. It's running great now thanks to the guys at Arctic Breeze and I'm as cool as a cucumber. I purchased a service contract so we will keep the equipment clean and running up to specs. This is a great company with techs who do a great job at a fair price. I will be a customer for many years ahead.

Do not use. They are great when installing a new unit but when it comes to customer service afterwards be prepared. The unit they installed went out in a year and a half. We called and they came out the next day but it took FOUR DAYS in the middle of JUNE to get it fixed. They had to order the part....hmmmmm the part they had to order is a standard part most companies carry on their trucks. They had no sense of urgency knowing that I had my one year old grand daughter and a house full of guests. They could have done something....if they tried. So just be aware that they are great to begin with but if something goes wrong down the road don't expect good service. Plus should a unit go out in a year and a half?

So sorry you feel this way according to your review. We came to your condo on SATURDAY, 6/20, to see why your AC was not cooling. The part was ordered on MONDAY, 6/22 because the distributor was closed on Saturday & Sunday. We received the part the next day, Tuesday, 6/23 and installed it on the same day. This part is under a manufacturer warranty. The part had to be a manufacturer original part (motor & motor module) because it is covered a manufacturer warranty. If a GENERIC motor was installed, it would have voided your warranty for that part. Our company (cannot speak for other companies) cannot possibly stock all factory warranty parts for all systems throughout the industry. We did understand the urgency of your cooling needs as well as every other customer from that weekend (our very first extremely hot weekend) who were in the same situation that you were in. I am sorry you did not feel you could have contacted us directly to express your concerns and instead felt the need to down grade us online.

I've been using him for 13 or 14 years. I recommend them for working on air conditioners. I have a running contract with them to service my air conditioner and heat pump as long as I pay before they come the first time. Then they come a second time for service. I've had no problems. They put the air conditioner in 13 or 14 years ago. The price is reasonable. If anything happens in the middle of the night, they will come out and I only have to pay for the parts.

A WOW Experience definitely describes this company. Mark came out, was courteous, professional, and took the time to show me all the differences and benefits to each system. He was honest and up front with what each unit would save on my electric bill and gave me the best bang for the buck. The installers came out on time, were professional, clean, and did a seamless install. I am very happy with this company and will continue to use them in the future. If you don't use Artic Breeze in the Flagler/Volusia Area, you should. They are fair on pricing, have integrity (which many A/C companies around here don't have), and sell you what fits your budget best. Their yearly maintenance plan is also affordable and they come twice a year, once in the spring for the A/C tune up and once in the fall for the heat. This way if your system is out of wack it prevents any further damage that could occur. A+++++

We had five visits in the course of a week. They were not floundering around. They were really doing their job, very well I think. It took so long, because they ordered the coils and the coils came in wrong, so they had to reorder them. Then there was one little part missing, so they had to get that. It took a number of visits to get the air conditioner working. The humidity in Florida makes it very uncomfortable if you do not have air conditioning. They did a really good job. I even challenged their amount of billing; I was happily surprised that the person that I was dealing with did not get defensive. They got back to me with in an hour and said here are all of the components of it and I said okay. The person that I bought the house from recommended them. I would use them again.

FAQs

How much should I expect my AC to cool my house? ›

As a rule of thumb, when it's 95 out, your AC can cool your house to approximately 70-80. Your air conditioner will be able to cool to about 15-25 degrees from the outside temperature.

Do air conditioners heat as well? ›

Surprisingly, we come across plenty of people who don't realise that air conditioning heats as well as cools air. Yet, most modern air conditioning systems are heat pumps which means they are capable of heating and cooling. Technically the air conditioning unit produces heat by reverse cycle.

Are heat pumps good? ›

Heat pumps are good for your wallet—and the world. They're the cheapest and most efficient way to handle both heating and cooling for your home, no matter where you live. They're also better for the environment.

Is central air cooling good? ›

Better At Cooling Your Home.

Unlike a window unit that works in only one room, central air conditioning provides cooling all through your whole house. Why? Because they are more effective at circulating cooled air. As a result, you'll avoid “hot spots” as well as areas right near the AC that are cold.

How cool should my house be if it's 110 outside? ›

At the very least, go check your filters.

How cool should my house be if it's 100° outside? The majority of air conditioning units are designed to only cool the air about 20 degrees from the outside temperature. If the temperatures outside are approaching triple digits, you should set your thermostat at about 78°.

How cool should my house be if its 90 outside? ›

They recommend that when it's 90 degrees outside, you should try setting your air conditioning thermostat at 80 degrees or higher. And when it's 95 to 100 degrees outside (and higher), you should set your thermostat at 85 degrees or higher.

Do air conditioners work harder in high temperature? ›

In many cases, the air conditioner's performance is based on the outdoor temperature. Your unit will find it easier to reject heat at 80 degrees than when it reaches 95 degrees. When your system has to work harder to keep you cool, you are putting more stress on the entire unit.

What temperature does AC work best? ›

According to the Department of Energy1, 78° Fahrenheit is the sweet spot for air conditioners to balance energy savings and comfort when people are at home and need cooling.

Is air conditioning cheaper to run than gas central heating? ›

AC is one of the most efficient ways of heating an area and can save you considerable money on running costs over a central heating system during its life span.

What is the downside to a heat pump? ›

Air source heat pumps can experience issues such as icing in cold temperatures, which can ultimately damage the system. Although modern heat pumps do often have automatic defrosting. Their efficiency will also be lower at very cold temperatures, and use more electricity during those cold days.

Why not to buy a heat pump? ›

Heat pumps might struggle in drafty, poorly insulated homes. You might need to upgrade your electrical service to support whole-house electric heating. And it's possible that you'll want to keep (or add) a backup heating system just in case the weather gets so unusually cold that your heat pump can't keep up.

Where should you not put a heat pump? ›

In general, open spaces tend to be easier to heat and cool from one indoor unit, while it can be challenging for heat to go through a doorway into other rooms. A room with a door that is typically closed will not benefit from a heat pump located outside the room.
